Launch of a new boiler house at Novy Urengoy Airport

08.02.2022

A new boiler house has been put into test operation at Novy Urengoy Airport, which will in future provide heat for the new passenger terminal and the entire infrastructure of the airport.

The block-modular boiler house was built as part of the large-scale reconstruction of Yamal's largest air hub. This year, after the necessary testing and commissioning operations, it will replace the existing boiler house. The new gas-fired boiler house has state-of-the-art equipment and will be automated. Its capacity will be 20 MW, with an efficiency factor of 90%.

At the moment gas is supplied to the new facility and boilers are started up for commissioning. Despite the test operation, the passenger terminal under construction is already receiving heat from the new boiler house. In the next few months the equipment will have to be meticulously programmed and modes of operation will have to be adjusted. By the end of 2022 the new boiler house will reach its full capacity.

LMS Group of Companies is the general contractor for construction of the new boiler house at Novy Urengoy Airport, which also builds the new passenger terminal and the air terminal's emergency rescue station building. Work at all facilities is being carried out in parallel.
