General Contractor LMS Group of Companies continues to build a new terminal complex of domestic air lines of the Voronezh Peter I International Airport at a high pace .

There will be more parking spaces at the airport. At the moment, in addition to the construction of the terminal of domestic air lines, several parking lots are being built on the territory of the Voronezh Peter I International Airport. So, 531 parking spaces will soon appear.

First of all, in order to perform high-quality work, the specialists of the general contractor carried out the development of the soil to the design mark. In other words, they removed the top layer of land from the territory of the future parking lot. And the scale is impressive – thanks to the work of excavators, mountains of chernozem were formed with a height of at least a two-story building. The extra land is removed from the territory by dump trucks.

The next stage is the laying of a geopolotn in the excavated space. This is necessary to ensure the separation of layers of pavement structures and to strengthen the soil base. Thanks to the use of geotextile, the impact of the wheels will be smoothly distributed over the entire coverage area, there will be no pressing of the upper layers (sand and gravel) into the soil and the coating will last for a long time even in places where heavy vehicles often travel.

Geo-field is filled with sand with layer-by-layer compaction. The thickness of each layer is not more than 300 mm. Compaction of soils is carried out to increase their strength and avoid settling during operation. When performing compaction, laboratory control over the quality of the work performed is carried out.

Layers of sand are followed by layers of crushed stone, which are also subjected to tamping.

The parameters of a high-quality seal are considered to be the destruction of crushed stone on a compacted base without pushing through. This parameter is monitored by a commission in the presence of all responsible persons with the preparation of an appropriate act.

Only after laying all the listed layers and performing control procedures, it is allowed to carry out work on the installation of an asphalt concrete base, which consists of 2 layers: coarse-grained and fine-grained asphalt concrete.

It should also be noted that even before the start of the very first stage of the construction of parking lots, a huge amount of work was done – communications were carried out underground. These are electrical networks, water supply, drainage, and sewer pipes. In addition to laying new communications, the old ones were replaced, which will provide the airport with an uninterrupted supply of resources.

So, parking only at first glance seems to be just a layer of asphalt on the ground. In fact, its construction requires a large amount of materials, technical equipment and laboratory tests.

Expansion of parking lots and an increase in the number of parking spaces is simply necessary, since after the opening of the new terminal, Voronezh Airport will be able to receive up to 2 million people a year. Residents of Voronezh and guests of the city will be able to leave their cars in a long-term parking lot, and mourners and greeters will be able to park conveniently near the terminals.
