The scope of competence of the specialist

The electrician must have knowledge in the field of electrical engineering, electrical equipment and electrical networks, and have to know:

  • Fundamentals of electrical engineering and electrical circuits
  • Methods of installation of electrical equipment and wiring
  • Safety requirements for installation and operation of electrical installations
  • Norms and rules of organization and operation of electric networks
  • Principles of operation of various types of electrical equipment, including switchboards, circuit breakers, relays, control and protection devices
  • Methods of measuring electrical parameters of equipment operation, troubleshooting in electrical networks and equipment
  • Norms and standards governing electrical installation work

The specialist should be able to use locksmith and electrified tools, as well as perform electrical work in difficult conditions (at altitude or underground).
