Today in our traditional section «People of LMS» we will introduce you to Dmitry Bylinkin, a BIM architect from the Moscow office.

Tell us what you do at LMS, the direction of activity, functions, position, who is your supervisor?

I am a BIM architect in the LMS Group of Companies, working under the guidance of Elena Mermer and Enis Dumanogullari. I am engaged in solving the tasks set by my management in terms of developing architectural solutions for various sections of the company's facilities: G-Drive Arena in Omsk, 5th quarter of the residential complex «Island» in Moscow, MTK «Kuzminki» in Moscow, the new airport terminal complex of domestic air airlines of the Peter I Voronezh International Airport, and so on.

How did your path in the construction industry begin?

In Omsk, I graduated from SibADI in the direction of «Industrial Civil Engineering». At that time, I was already combining my studies with my future profession, working with various design companies.

In Moscow, he completed a master's degree in the direction of «Production of building materials, products and structures» at the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering.

After the first education, I decided to try myself in building materials science. Soon he started working at LMS at the Omsk Arena facility as a design technician.

After completing my master's degree, I continue my postgraduate studies, studying in more depth the direction of construction sciences, including doing research work in the field of the development of chemical additives in building materials. Namely, the study of the composition of complex antifreeze additives for concrete mixtures used in construction at subzero temperatures in monolithic reinforced concrete structures.

Where did you work before LMS? Tell us about your experience in previous projects?

I have worked in outsourcing for several private construction companies. Due to my busy studies, I had to develop sections of architectural and design solutions, as well as standard solutions for housing and communal services. And even then he began to implement BIM modeling in his work. That allowed me to work out and create my own templates for structuring the processes of timely release of sets of drawings. Working with parameters in a BIM model allows you to scan an object, collect analysis, link drawings, and work with the data obtained already for the purchase of materials to perform construction and installation work.

What is the uniqueness of the processes specifically in your activity?

Architectural design depends on all the internal work on the project. The ecosystem of the project is firmly connected and interacts with all sections in the design of the object, mechanics, electrics and design direction. And the closer the teamwork, the more effective the end result.

Share successful cases. Do you implement your own developments, technologies that allow you to improve the quality and efficiency of your work?

The BIM model allows you to collect complete information on the future object, from the foundation to the roof. Working with the parameters of elements in such a model, we can clearly analyze all the positions we are interested in: from overall dimensions to the type of material and its characteristics, as well as, if necessary, the final cost. This allows us to offer several alternative solutions already at the approval stage, which significantly reduces the project development process.

How do you see the development of your direction/project in the company? What are the prospects for the company, in your opinion?

Our company has a very good pace and great prospects for further growth. The number of commissioned objects and their uniqueness allowed us to accumulate vast experience, gaining professional competencies and knowledge. The self-development of each employee in his own direction contributes to the development of the company as a whole, and is the key to success.
