The installation of escalators and elevators started at Novy Urengoy airport terminal

At the construction site of the new passenger terminal of Novy Urengoy airport, the specialists of the general contractor, LMS Group of Companies, began installing escalators and elevators.

The terminal will have four escalators, two in the common area, two in the holding area. Also, 12 elevators will be installed, including 11 passenger and one freight elevator. Three cabins have already been installed at the site.

The process of installing escalators is quite long and time-consuming. One mechanism consists of three sections, which are connected into one structure with a length of about 18 meters before installation. Lifting to the working height is done by hand with the help of hinged mechanisms. After installation, workers will perform commissioning activities: connecting the escalator to the power grid, installing the balustrade and handrails, testing and calibrating the device.

In parallel with the installation of escalators and elevators in the terminal, the following work is in progress:

• Installation of interior partitions and stairwells.
• Floor plastering and tile laying.
• Communication systems installation.
• The installation of sandwich panels, exterior stained glass and double-glazed windows, stairwells and elevator shafts is nearing completion.

More than 500 specialists of the general contractor are engaged at the site, including engineering manpower. 30 units of equipment are involved in the construction
