Construction of Platov Airport in Rostov-on-Don: do we remember how it was?

In 2017, the general contractor LMS Group of Companies implemented the construction of a full complex of the terminal infrastructure of the first new airport in Russia. Let's remember the features of this project?

Firstly, 2 terminals were built in an open field, including VIP.

Secondly, when building such buildings, increased requirements are always taken into account: after all, regulatory bodies such as the FSB, the FCS, and customs services work there. They need specialized premises, which we implement under certain requirements.

A large modular boiler house was built separately, a pipeline was brought in and a pumping station was built to provide water from the Don River. 10 kV power supply networks from 110 kV substations have been brought in and a 25 MW Central distribution point has been built from which, in turn, internal high-voltage distribution networks have been built.

During the implementation of the construction, there were no engineering networks necessary to provide such a large infrastructure facility. In the shortest possible time, a lot of work has been done on the supply of external engineering networks, taking into account the interaction with the government of the Rostov region and resource-supplying organizations, since usually the timing of the supply of permanent engineering networks is on average at least six months late.

But it was important to complete the facility by the regulated deadline - for the World Cup, so the technical specialists and the LMS management tried very hard to do the work on synchronizing the commissioning dates of the entire complex with the supply and commissioning of engineering networks from the city: gas, water, electricity.

During the peak time, about 1800 specialists were employed at the construction site.

At that time, not everyone was using BIM technology (it was a rare phenomenon), but we had already connected it. It made it possible to eliminate collisions when entering engineering networks and create an accurate visualization of the project for coordination with the customer.

We managed to do it on time, the object was completed qualitatively. This happened thanks to cooperation with the customer and the use of the latest technologies in construction.
