A contract has been signed for the construction of a new Magadan Airport building

Today, LMS Group of Companies signed a general contract for the construction of a new airport building with Magadan Airport JSC in the presence of the Governor of the Magadan Region Sergey Nosov and the General Director of Novaport Holding LLC Sergey Rudakov.

The capacity of the new complex will be 800 passengers/hour. The new terminal will be equipped with 2 telescopic ladders and an automatic baggage handling system. The architectural appearance and interiors of the terminal will reflect the peculiarities of nature, the wealth of minerals and labor achievements of the Magadan region.

The project also provides for the construction of a new forecourt, a new 10 kV electrical distribution substation, sewage treatment plants and other auxiliary facilities. The construction period is 2 years.

The event was attended by the head of the LMS project – Ilkhan Musa Ozkoch.

The head of the region, Sergey Nosov, noted that the new airport building will have comfortable conditions for passengers to stay, meeting the most modern requirements: «This is what no generation of Magadans dreamed of. The contract is signed. The deadlines are set. Contractors, and this is not just builders, have already started work. This project is also important to us for the development of the air transportation network within the country, the development of new destinations for Magadan.»

According to Sergei Rudakov, the building is not typical for Magadan, it is airy, golden, made of glass: «This is a conscious decision. In two years, I think there will be a building here that you can be proud of. A general contractor has been selected. This is a partner company, we have already built several airports with it.»

General Director of LMS Group of Companies Rahim Makhmudov noted: «Neither the climate, nor the temperature, nor the latitude are news to us. We have experience in building airports in two years from scratch. We have now started recruiting employees. We will hire local people and bring specialists. We are already preparing the equipment for shipment, solving organizational issues. The active phase of construction will begin in January.»
