The role of transport in the socio-economic development of any territory is huge. Transport routes are the basis of material production and logistics chains. The economic development of the region directly depends on the effective transport interaction of the service sector with manufacturing enterprises and the trade and consumer market. That is why billions of rubles are allocated annually for the construction of communication routes and the arrangement of transport infrastructure.

Transport construction is a branch of capital construction, whose specialists are engaged in the construction of new, modernization and reconstruction of existing transport facilities. The transport system includes land (rail and road), water (sea and river), air, pipeline transport routes and infrastructure facilities.

Features of transport construction

Automobile transportation is carried out on an extensive network of highways. The main element of the highway is the roadbed. Depending on the category and purpose of the highway, the design of the road surface also differs. For safe operation and ease of use, highways are equipped with crossings, transport interchanges, parking lots, service stations, gas stations, equipment for regulating traffic.

The air infrastructure includes airfields, air terminals and transportation management system facilities. The most difficult part of the construction is the arrangement of the runway for take-off and landing of aircraft. Additionally, the airfield is equipped with parking lots, taxiways, aprons. Near the airfield there is an air terminal and facilities for ensuring the movement of air transport.

To carry out sea or river transportation, it is necessary to build a port, which includes a complex of land and hydraulic structures. During the construction of water transport facilities, construction and installation works are carried out both on the coastal territory and in the water area of the port.
